Three days in Phoenix that open your six-month training cohort. You come with your coach and your Conference Church Planting Leader.

Who's coming? Once you've registered, the link in your confirmation email shows everyone who has registered and who hasn't yet.

Attendance is 100% mandatory. If you cannot be present for the whole training, do not register; speak with your conference staff about postponing your training start instead.

What Happens and When

    Arrive Monday AfternoonIf your flights or drive put you in on Monday. Housing opens at 2 pm.

    Check-In and Opening LunchThe registration table opens at 12 noon, and the first session starts at 1 pm.

    TrainingTraining sessions across all three days on prayer and renewal, building a healthy and sustainable church, and leading it well.

    Training Ends at 2 pmEverything is finished by 2 pm, including the last session. Book return flights for 4 pm or later.

All times Arizona time, which does not change for daylight saving.

Getting There

Flights. Fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX).

  • Book economy or basic economy by Tue, Oct 27, at least 21 days ahead.
  • SSC reimburses round-trip airfare up to $500 (USD) when you book by then. The cap is on the base fare. Seat selection, upgrades, and change or cancellation fees are your own cost.
  • Rare exceptions to the cap exist for extreme distances such as Alaska or parts of Canada, and only for tickets bought 21 days out.

Driving. Personal auto is reimbursed per mile at the published rate in force when you travel, plus tolls, not to exceed the 21-day economy airfare equivalent.

Housing. You stay at Sonesta Suites Scottsdale Gainey Ranch, 7300 E Gainey Suites Dr, Scottsdale, from Monday afternoon through Thursday checkout. SSC Admin books your room from your registration, so there is no need to book one yourself.

On Site. SSC uses WhatsApp during the event for rides and logistics. Install it on your phone before you travel: iPhone or Android. It also runs on a computer.

Hotel to Church. SSC is working out how everyone gets between the hotel and Desert City Church and will send the details before you travel.

Not Covered. Change or cancellation fees, car rentals, food and drink before you arrive, nights outside the housing window unless SSC approves them.

Reimbursement. The SSC reimbursement form. Submit receipts within one week after the event ends. Receipts after that cannot be reimbursed.
